• About Ndovu Foundation

A Story Born at the Edge of the Wild

Founded in February 2026, Ndovu Foundation works at the crossroads of wildlife conservation and human development — near the iconic Tarangire National Park in Tanzania.

01

Wildlife Protection & Anti-Poaching

Human-wildlife conflict is a daily reality for communities near Tarangire. When elephants destroy crops and lions take livestock, the community suffers deeply. We address both sides of this conflict.

  • Equipping rangers with boots, torches, and protective gear
  • Anti-poaching training for rangers and community members
  • Collaboration with WMA (Wildlife Management Areas)
  • Community education on coexistence with wildlife
  • Reporting and monitoring systems near park boundaries

02

Day Care & Nursery School Education
Our centre in Burunge B Village offers safe, nurturing early childhood education. We started with 4 children in February 2026 and have grown to 20+ — with a vision to build a full primary school.
  • Early childhood education from age 2–6
  • Home-based learning support for families
  • Nutritional support and meals for enrolled children
  • Employment of local teachers and caregivers
  • Freeing mothers to participate in economic activities

03

Community Empowerment & Livelihoods
Poverty and gender inequality are deeply connected to human-wildlife conflict. When communities have stable incomes and opportunities, they become wildlife’s strongest protectors.
  • Employment creation: teachers, security, administrators
  • Outreach programs for girls including sanitary provision
  • Skills training and livelihood workshops
  • Women-focused economic empowerment programs
  • Partnerships with WMA and community organizations

04

Albinism Support & Sun Safety
People with albinism face unique challenges in Tanzania’s equatorial climate. We provide critical supplies and education to help them protect themselves and live with dignity.
  • Sunscreen and sunglasses provision
  • Protective hats and clothing distribution
  • Education programs on sun safety and self-care
  • Community awareness to reduce stigma and discrimination
  • Linkage to health services and ongoing support
Coming Soon: Primary School

Our biggest dream is building a full primary school — giving children in Burunge B the foundation to succeed all the way through their education journey. Construction planning is underway.

Expanding Across Tanzania

We aim to reach communities near national parks across Tanzania — replicating our model of combining wildlife protection with community empowerment wherever human-wildlife conflict threatens livelihoods.
